I work for a Software company. We sell Software applications and consultancy to support the applications, I'm struggling to draw the line between my direct and indirect spend categories.

for example if I buy a laptop for a developer and one for accounts payable, are they both indirect spend or does the developers laptop come under direct spend? any suggestion for what my direct categories might be would be gratefully received.
