Purchasing Agent, Aircraft OEM: Purchases all parts, instruments, raw materials, hardware, misc. shop supplies, and outside labor orders for the entire manufacturing facility. Generates Purchase orders adhering to FAA and company regulations, specs, and in compliance with production or installation drawings/prints & revisions. Designs, and maintains effective and organized lists for all factory purchase requests and requirements. Seeks out and surveys companies to continuously establish new, competitive, and compliant vendors/sources. (Includes checking/ confirming their quality control procedures, company certifications, insuring use of compliant purchasing methods and record keeping for traceability to required 3rd tier/mill of origin. Also, spearheads big-picture cost/benefit analyses: packing/handling, freight time & cost comparison, ability to ship using our preferred/discounted accounts, openness to price & payment negotiation, discovery of any added fees such as additional part / material certs, international usability/airworthiness approvals, ) Other skills: blueprint reading, material/spec data referencing & call outs, Inventory Management and Receiving, Acquiring Return Material/Part Authorization, Accounting: Payment requests for COD, Net Terms Negotiation, Payment expedition, Inventory Receiving and System management.
